Viotexikarp of Crete was founded in 1978 by Michael Bamiedakis and very rapidly developed into an innovative cottage industry due to the unique taste and quality of its products.

With abundant loving care, it concocted recipes that established Viotexikarp of Crete as the foremost family operated business in its field.

Pasteli (a sweet made primarily from sesame seeds and honey that has been made from the days of Homer), caramel nut bars and genuine nougat, all made with very little sugar, a lot of honey and locally grown nuts, free from preservatives.

Today, Viotexikarp of Crete has its own facilities at the 8th klm on the road running from Heraklion to Malades on the St. Sylla plain that are managed by Vangelis Bamiedakis, the youngest member of the family, who is continuing to produce and expand the product lines with passion and enthusiasm.

The Michel range products  are recommended as health food supplements due to the high levels of vitamins A, B1, B2, E they contain, which retain their nutritional values after roasting by the special technique applied. In this way, the products’ rich ingredients and great taste remain unaffected and make the entire Michel range a nutritional goldmine.

Its products are renowned for their quality throughout the Greek market and all over the world.

The company attained ISO 22000 certification in 2004 and has participated in several exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

It has won international awards, including the “Gold Star” award in Madrid, in 1990, and the “Diamond Star” award in Mexico, in 1993.
